Interwired Conducts Internet Attitude Survey on Beef.


Tokyo, Japan, Nov 10, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Online market researcher Interwired has announced the results of its latest survey on beef and consumer awareness. The company surveyed 6,003 people (male: 42.2% and female: 57.8%) via its DIMSDRIVE Internet Internet

Publicly accessible computer network connecting many smaller networks from around the world. It grew out of a U.S. Defense Department program called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network), established in 1969 with connections between computers at the
 service from October 19 through 25.

When asked how often they purchased beef over the past month, 27.5% answered once a week, followed by two to three times per month (24.2%) and once a month (13.4%). As many as 21.0% did not buy beef at all.

When asked what they regard most important in purchasing beef, 40.2% mentioned price, followed by where it is produced (27.9%) and freshness (13.9%). Further, 62.8% currently buy beef produced in Japan while 52.5% buy Australian Australian

pertaining to or originating in Australia.

Of the respondents In the context of marketing research, a representative sample drawn from a larger population of people from whom information is collected and used to develop or confirm marketing strategy. , 66.3% are worried about resuming beef import from the US, which is expected within the year. When asked whether or not they would buy US beef once import resumes, only 22.5% answered "yes" while 41.5% said "no." In particular, 64.4% of the female respondents in their 60s or older said that they would not buy.

Of those who intend to refrain from purchasing US beef, 62.6% said that they would buy if the US government screen cows for BSE See Bombay Stock Exchange.
