:SPM SPM - Sequential Parlog Machine ), today announced that Intertek Testing Services' ETL SEMKO division, (ITS ETL SEMKO), a leading testing organization, will use the Spirent C2K-ATS CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) A method for transmitting simultaneous signals over a shared portion of the spectrum. The foremost application of CDMA is the digital cellular phone technology from QUALCOMM that operates in the 800 MHz band and 1.9 GHz PCS band. 2000 Automatic Test System as the primary test platform for its qualification of CDMA2000 and IS-95 mobile devices.

ITS ETL SEMKO now will be able to expand its wide range of mobile terminal testing services to include CDMA2000 products. ITS ETL SEMKO will utilize Spirent's C2K-ATS system to assist terminal manufacturers in assuring that their products perform in accordance with the CDMA mobile minimum performance specifications. Spirent's C2K-ATS is the only commercially available system that enables both automated CDMA2000 physical layer and protocol layer performance testing in a single platform. This industry-standard Spirent solution will enable ITS ETL SEMKO to provide the most efficient 3G wireless certification services to its customers

ITS ETL SEMKO has been providing CDMA testing services to the wireless handset industry since 1997, using 2G test systems from Spirent Communications. ITS ETL SEMKO has been pre-qualified to be a CTIA Authorized Testing Laboratory (CATL CATL Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning ). Qualified labs will participate in the CTIA's Handset Certification Program.
