Intersouth Partners Expands Investment Team, Northern Virginia Office; Hire Of Industry Executive Hannah A. Chang Grows Firm's Mid-Atlantic Presence, Information Technology Team.

DURHAM, N.C. -- Intersouth Partners, a venture capital firm focused on helping visionary entrepreneurs build high-impact companies by providing early stage capital, announced today that Hannah Chang has joined the firm's northern Virginia office as an Associate.

Chang joins Intersouth from Cisco Systems, where she launched the company's defense and aerospace manufacturing group. She previously worked at start-up company Andiamo Systems, where she launched new products in the data storage space. Andiamo, a private company, was acquired by Cisco in 2003. She started her career as a Captain in the U.S. Army, where she planned and led the communications assets for the largest joint tactical voice, video and data network in the Pacific Theater. She also led the Army's most forward-deployed multi-channel satellite and radio platoon. Chang holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy and an M.B.A. from Duke University.

Chang will join Intersouth partner Don Rainey in the firm's northern Virginia office and will focus primarily on investment opportunities based in the DC-Baltimore corridor.

In her role as an Associate, Chang will identify potential investments for the firm, perform due diligence on prospective investments and work with portfolio companies. She joins Intersouth's information technology team, currently comprised of four full-time partners: Kip Frey, John Glushik, Mitch Mumma and Don Rainey. The addition of Chang brings the total number of Intersouth investment professionals to 11.
