The initial combined Interphase/Surf solution is a highly-scalable, modular application subsystem which enables the delivery of next generation convergent AdvancedTCA, MicroTCA, and proprietary communications systems, such as IP-to-IP and TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path. Each lower-speed signal is time sliced into one high-speed transmission.  (Mobile)-to-IP media gateways, media-enhanced servers, session border controllers, CTI (Computer Telephone Integration) Combining data with voice systems in order to enhance telephone services. "Media stream transport and processing is a key building block requirement for the delivery of advanced services in the network", said Greg Kalush, president and chief executive officer of Interphase Corporation. "This partnership with Surf combines best-of-breed media processing and intelligent input/output solutions, enabling our customers to deliver voice and video processing solutions to the marketplace using standards-based, cost-effective AdvancedTCA platforms."

"The union between the robust Interphase AdvancedMC and AdvancedTCA carrier board products and the unique media processing capabilities of our SurfRider/AMC DSP (1) (Digital Signal Processor) A special-purpose CPU used for digital signal processing applications (see definition #2 below). It provides ultra-fast instruction sequences, such as shift and add, and multiply and add, which are commonly used in math-intensive  resource board Co wherein all three media types: voice, video and data (fax and modem) can be processed simultaneously on a single DSP Co will provide our customers with comprehensive, cost-effective, and easy-to-integrate communication solutions to drive and distribute their voice and video applications," commented Eyal Zagagi, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. The integrated solution utilizes I-TDM technology which creates a flexible, scaleable and robust solution for the telecommunications market. The fully integrated blade level subsystem solution will initially include the SurfRider/AMC[TM] family of multimedia processing DSP resource boards together with the Interphase iSPAN 3639 Multiprotocol T1/E1/J1 Communications Controller AdvancedMC solution on the Interphase iNAV 31K AdvancedTCA Carrier Board.
