Corporation (Nasdaq:INPH), an international supplier of next-generation networking technologies, today announced details regarding its portfolio of AdvancedMC(TM) building blocks targeted for use in next-generation PSTNs, wireless and edge networks based on emerging PICMG An industry consortium that develops specifications for backplanes and interconnects for electronic equipment in the industrial and telecom fields. It was founded in 1994 as the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group, hence the acronym. (R) 3.X AdvancedTCA(R)(ATCA) and MicroTCA platforms.

The AdvancedMC product line includes a quad port Gigabit Ethernet adapter, a family of OC3/STM-1 multi-port Network Interface Cards, a T1/E1/J1 Communications Controller, a dual port Gigabit flow-through security processor, and a Gigabit Ethernet Network Processor Card. Interphase ensures a comprehensive AdvancedMC product portfolio by offering a flexible carrier card supporting up to six Advanced Mezzanine Cards. Additional product details and delivery timeframes will be announced in the coming weeks.

This broad portfolio of mezzanine building blocks confirms Interphase's strategic commitment to support emerging platforms based on PICMG(R) 3.X AdvancedTCA (ATCA) and microTCA standards. This commitment is built on a legacy of Interphase providing Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) with standards-based PMC (1) See Portable Media Center.

mezzanine modules and blades for CompactPCI(R) 2.16 platforms. Telecom Equipment Manufacturers are currently developing first-generation ATCA platforms using PMC modules from Interphase Corporation. Customers who are early adopters of ATCA will experience the benefits of working with Interphase as they migrate from communications platforms based on Interphase PMC mezzanine modules to the company's AdvancedMC modules. Interphase will enable its early-adopter customers to leverage their previous development efforts on next-generation ATCA platforms, thereby saving them time and costs for additional system integration efforts.

ATCA lays the framework for a new generation of communications infrastructure that will offer a dramatic performance improvement over the systems available today. Targeted for next-generation carrier grade communications equipment, the ATCA series of specifications incorporate the latest trends in high speed interconnect NVIDIA's High Speed Interconnect (often abbreviated to 'HSI') chip was used in their early PCI Express graphics cards, where it acted as a bridge between the PCI Express connection to the computer and the natively AGP GPU.  technologies, next generation processors, and improved reliability, manageability and serviceability. Interphase ATCA products are designed to target those application segments with the greatest level of forecasted demand for ATCA, including converging next-generation PSTNs, wireless and edge networks.

"Our portfolio of AdvancedMC mezzanines is designed to work in both AdvancedTCA and MicroTCA platforms, offering greater flexibility in platform selection for the most demanding carrier and enterprise applications," said Greg Kalush, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization.
