Internosis Develops E-Commerce Web Site for Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.

E-Commerce Site to Accept Public Donations For the

Preservation of Historic Air Craft and Space Artifacts

Internosis, an innovative Microsoft e-business solution provider that manages technology change in the areas of e-commerce, eCRM, knowledge management and infrastructure, announced today the completion of an e-commerce site for the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum The National Air and Space Museum (NASM) of the Smithsonian Institution is a museum in Washington, D.C., United States, and is the most popular of the Smithsonian museums. It maintains the largest collection of aircraft and spacecraft in the world. .

The Web site, which launched today, was integrated with the Museum's current Internet site for the purpose of accepting public donations for the building of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center The Steven F. The National Air and Space Museum is building the companion facility in order to exhibit and preserve more of its collection of aviation and space artifacts, some 80% of which is now in storage.

"We worked closely with the developers at Internosis to create an e-commerce site that would allow the public to play a direct role in the preservation of our nation's important air and space heritage," said General John R. Internosis built a business-to-consumer e-commerce Web presence for the Museum, which utilizes Microsoft's Site Server Commerce Edition and enables visitors to view information on many air and spacecraft while making donations in support of restoration efforts.

Internosis provided project management, development, and implementation consulting services to deliver this full-scale e-commerce site, which offers customer registration and authentication, order processing, shipping and billing addresses, payment validation and order confirmation.

With the addition of the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, the Museum will comprise the largest such complex of its kind in the world. The 710,000 square-foot facility, three football fields in length and ten stories high, will feature a restoration facility, an observation tower, a large-format theater, classroom areas and learning labs.

Among the artifacts on view will include the Space Shuttle space shuttle, reusable U.S. space vehicle.
