Internosis Deploys Microsoft Exchange 2000 for National Rifle Association of America; Reliable Solution Makes NRA Early Adopter of Microsoft's Messaging and Collaboration Platform.Business Editors/Hi-Tech Writers DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 2000 Internosis, an innovative Microsoft e-business solution provider that manages technology change in the areas of e-commerce, knowledge management and infrastructure, announced today the deployment of Microsoft Exchange 2000 for the National Rifle Association of America National Rifle Association of America (NRA NRA - National Recovery Administration NRA - National Rifle Association NRA - Naval Reserve Association NRA - Nœuds de Raccordement d’Abonnés (France Telecom) NRA - Nachos, Rifles & Alcohol (Simpsons) NRA - NASA Research Announcement NRA - National Rail Association NRA - National Railway Authority NRA - National Recovery Act NRA - National Recreation Area (US National Park Service) NRA - National Recreation Association), group founded (1871) to promote shooting, hunting, firearm safety, and wildlife conservation. The NRA has nearly 3 million members. The association sponsors shooting competitions and maintains a collection of antique and modern firearms. It also lobbies vigorously against gun control legislation and gun registration, basing its position on the Second Amendment to the U.S. (NRA) in order to improve communication and allow for the real-time sharing of information from any location throughout the organization. Designed specifically for Microsoft's Windows 2000 Server, Exchange 2000 delivers rock-solid messaging and collaboration, Web Storage System collaboration and applications, and anytime, anywhere access and communication. The NRA deployment leveraged Internosis' four-phase approach to Exchange 2000 migration and development. This phased approach is designed to help customers design, plan, architect and migrate to Exchange 2000 and then leverage the platform for improved knowledge management. It also seeks to substantially reduce the time needed to realize the communication and collaboration benefits of the new platform while minimizing deployment challenges. Internosis began the phase one discovery and design portion of the project in September. Working with NRA to leverage their existing infrastructure components for Windows 2000 migration, Internosis then upgraded local area network users to the Exchange 2000 Server/Outlook 2000 messaging platform. NRA took advantage of Exchange 2000's messaging cluster solution, a unique feature that uses multiple servers and storage systems in an effort to ensure 100 percent delivery of applications at all times, even during systems failure. With the cluster solution, application services fail-over to the other server or storage system substantially reducing downtime to the end users. "NRA is committed to increasing user productivity by employing innovative and reliable IT solutions," said Tony Hayes, NRA's Director of Information Services. Rick Thompson, NRA's Assistant Director of Computer Operations and NRA's project manager for the Exchange 2000 migration said, "Exchange 2000 gives our employees increased access to information at a far greater speed and with much more reliability. Internosis' reputation as a team player, and their proven phased migration approach to ensuring projects are completed on time and under budget convinced us they would be the right partner for this job." Today's fast moving global market is seeking partners that can make sense of the latest upgrades and solutions impacting the industry on an almost daily basis. Internosis' years of experience in application development and the deployment of Microsoft products and services put them in a unique position to meet the needs of even the most demanding customers. "With the launch of Exchange 2000, Internosis is prepared to provide a valuable component to customers implementing a reliable messaging solution," said Stan Sorensen, group product manager, Server Applications at Microsoft. "Internosis is focused on enhancing the reliability and scalability of customers' Exchange 2000 messaging and collaboration infrastructure."
