Interning for justice.


CHICAGO--Last summer, 14 undergraduates from 10 Catholic colleges and universities got a chance to put Catholic social teaching to work in the National Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice's Catholic Social Teaching Summer Internship internship /in·tern·ship/ (in´tern-ship) the position or term of service of an intern in a hospital.

Students began their internships last June with a weeklong immersion in the basics of both Catholic social teaching and organizing for labor justice. They then moved on to their assignments with local interfaith worker justice Interfaith Worker Justice (IWJ) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan religious organization that educates and mobilizes the religious people of all faiths in the United States on issues important to working people.

IWJ is governed by a 40-member board of directors.
