Internet erodes publisher's subscriber base.


A 33-year subscriber to The Newsletter on Newsletters recently told us his story on the condition that we do not reveal his name, his newsletter's name, or the market he serves.

He began his newsletter right out of graduate school and built its subscriber base to encompass 90 percent of his market. But the information he provides is now available on the internet for free and faster, so his subscriptions have plummeted to the point where he's he's  

1. Contraction of he is: He's going to school today.

2. Contraction of he has: He's already been to the museum.
 barely breaking even.

But no matter, he said. The newsletter allowed him to put his two children through college and he has no debt--plus, he's currently looking to buy a $1,200,000 yacht yacht: see motorboating; sailing.

"Additionally," he said, "the newsletter has allowed me the time and freedom to become an advanced scuba diver diver, general term used to refer to many diving birds, e.g., the loon, the grebe, and some ducks, auks, and penguins.  and to travel the world as long as no trip lasted for more than six days (since my newsletter is published weekly).
