Jeffrey Herzog, chief executive officer, Internet Crossing Inc., the leading Internet eMarketing firm delivering strategic tools and services that transform business into global ebusiness, Tuesday announced that Alan Hald will be joining the company as chairman of the board and chief strategy officer effective Oct. 1, 2000.
Hald has been serving as a director of the company since August 2000 and an advisor since November 1999.
Hald, co-founder of MicroAge Inc., guided MicroAge's growth from only one location in 1976 to a $6 billion Fortune 500 company serving as chairman, president, vice chairman and other senior executive positions. He designed and implemented the dramatic expansion of the firm's systems integration business from a startup in 1992 to a $1.5 billion enterprise just five years later.
This has become the primary MicroAge business since the firm voluntarily entered Chapter 11 reorganization April 2000. Hald left MicroAge in November 1999. His last two years at MicroAge were focused on start-up business units.
