Internet Advertising. (Learning Literature).

The Internet Advertising Bureau of Canada (IAB Canada) and PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada have worked together to accurately measure online advertising revenues by directly surveying Canadian Web publishers. The results highlight the strong growth trend that continues in this advertising medium and illustrates a number of other trends:

* Despite economic slowdowns, Canadian Web site ad revenues virtually doubled in 2000, up from $55.5 million in 1999 to $110 million;

* Banners and buttons are also declining in use while email newsletters and rich media formats are increasing.

Canada ranks fifth in actual dollars spent on online advertising in the world, even though Canada is ranked tenth for total ad spending.
