International Islamic University seminar on Bioinformatics, Pakistan industries.ISLAMABAD, November 03, 2010 (Balochistan Times): The International Islamic University International Islamic University may refer to:
He has a B.Sc. Economic from the London School of Economics. He has a M.Sc Administrative Sciences from the London Graduate Business Center, City University, London. Saeed Shah, President Chamber of Commerce, Dr. Sajid from QAU, Dr. Ummar and Dr. Jamil from NUST and Dr. Shaukat from MAJU. Speakers highlighted various aspects of Bioinformatics and its application. They said the need for using mathematical algorithms and information management tools arises from an explosion of data in various fields of biology. In the past one-decade, new technologies have enabled scientists to produce large databases of genomic data, of man and other species, protein sequences, expression of genes, population genetics studies, crop varieties information, etc. These projects have suddenly transformed biology into a data rich science. New methods are therefore required for data capture, data mining and data visualization. Bioinformatics is an emerging field of science that combines biology, statistics and computer sciences to solve biological problems. It has application in drug discovery, genomic and protein analysis and particularly in biotechnology, said Ali Raza Saeed. He appreciated the IIU for creating awareness about this technology and assured full support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the IIU in its endeavours to cope with latest technologies. Parveen Qadir Agha, Vice President IIU speaking on the occasion said that the IIU is all out for adopting latest technologies and for that university is paying more and more attention. The participants and guests from different universities, institutes, scientific organizations like QAU, NUST, FAST, COMSATS, MAJU, Arid University, Faisalabad GC University, KRL, PMRC, PEMRA, PASTIC, NESCOM, NARC 'narc' American slang for narcotics enforcement agent.
