International cooperation agreed by speech-language pathologists.


BIRSBANE, AUSTRALIA -- The Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists has joined an agreement with professional associations in Australia. United Kingdom and the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , for recognition of certified Speech-Language Pathologists.

 Australia, The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is a professional association for speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists in the United States and internationally. .

The parties agreed to reduce the time and barriers for recognition of training, and improving mobility to identify common standards of clinical competence; facilitate the exchange of knowledge and promote greater international understanding of the role of speech language pathologists. The agreement still has to be approved by the provincial colleges.

CASLPA is the national professional association representing almost 5,000 speech-language pathologists and audiologists in Canada.
