The Forissier companies are TJ Forissier SA and Fressynet SA, both of Saint-Chamond Saint-Chamond (săN-shämäN`), city (1990 pop. 39,262), Loire dept., SE France, at the confluence of the Gier and Janon rivers. The city was originally developed in the 19th cent. as a coal-mining center. , which manufacture specialty braids, rope and cable products; and Charbonnet SA, of Beynost, a manufacturer of insulated wire wire covered with some nonconducting material, such as plastic or silk, for use in conducting electricity.
