International Rectifier Corporation Italiana SPA - IRCI - Wafer Fabrication Facility Granted JANS Certification.

International Rectifier, IR(r) (NYSE:IRF) today announced that the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) has granted JANS certification for the International Rectifier Corporation Italiana SPA (IRCI) wafer fabrication facility located in Borgaro, Torino, Italy. This is the fifth International Rectifier high-reliability (hi-rel) wafer fab to receive JANS certification. JANS is the highest quality level assigned by MIL-PRF-19500, and is used by nearly every space-level customer.

The 135,000 square-foot facility is certified to produce JANS Schottky diode and FRED wafers for use in hi-rel applications, such as commercial and military aircraft, space-launch vehicles, satellites and strategic weapon systems.

QPL, the Qualified Products List, is a Department of Defense listing of standard semiconductor products produced by certified suppliers in accordance with government performance specifications. Suppliers are audited periodically, thus certifying all customers receive products that meet government standards.

In addition, other quality levels such as JANTXV and JANTX may also be supplied by the IRCI fabrication facility.

IRCI is IR's high-volume wafer fabrication supplier of five-inch Schottky diode and FRED wafer technologies. IR's Hi-Rel Products group will act as the supplier of JANS dice and finished (screened) products. Wafer lots selected for JANS applications will be analyzed for compliance to JANS criteria by the International Rectifier Hi-Rel Products group.
