International Multimedia Teleconferencing Consortium Hosts Market Interoperability Launch Event At TeleCon XVIII.

The International Multimedia Teleconferencing Consortium (body) International Multimedia Teleconferencing Consortium - (IMTC) A non-profit corporation formed in September 1994 comprising more than 150 companies from around the world.  (IMTC) today announced its second-ever Market Interoperability Launch Event (MILE) to be held October 26 through 28 at TeleCon XVIII.

The second public event of its kind, MILE is an extensive demonstration highlighting the interoperability of IMTC member companies' diverse multimedia communications products and services. Throughout the three-day event three-day event

, visitors to the IMTC Pavilion will have the opportunity to see how various products (desktop and room-based systems, MCUs, gateways, gatekeepers, etc.) based on international standards work with each other to deliver seamless multimedia communications solutions.

"By hosting innovative demonstrations such as MILE, the IMTC and the participating member companies are demonstrating their commitment to, and fostering the development of, the multimedia conferencing industry."

At the demonstration, visitors will be able to witness first-hand, through scenarios that replicate real business applications, interoperability between and across: -0-
          --   H.323 for video (audiovisual) communications on Local
               Area and Internet Protocol (IP) networks.
          --   H.323 systems interconnected via H.320, and
          --   H.320 for videoconferencing over ISDN
          --   T.120 for real time data conferencing (audiographics)
          --   And, audio conferencing.

     Thirteen companies showcasing more than 20 products will be
participating in the IMTC MILE demonstration, including:
