International Kirkland Releases Historical and Current Results.

TORONTO -- International Kirkland Minerals Inc. ("IKI" / the "Company")(TSX VENTURE:IKI) announces that it has now received past drill data for 68 of 140 drill holes from the Chang Zi Ping area of the Company's 720 sq km Xuefeng gold property, China.

Chang Zi Ping is located about 6km northeast of the Daping area where IKI is completing a 1000m underground adit that over the next 45 days is scheduled to intersect 5 gold zones at a depth of about 120m.

CHANG ZI PING, XUEFENG GOLD PROPERTY

Between 1985 and 1997 a total of 140 holes were drilled by Brigade 407 at Chang Zi Ping for over 34,000m of drilling. In addition, artisanal mining operations consisting of more than 1,000 small scale miners were ongoing from time to time during this period at Chang Zi Ping. Substantially all of the illegal artisanal miners have left the site as a result of Brigade 407 securing the boundaries of the property in 2002 as part of Brigade 407's plan to obtain a joint venture partner such as IKI.

The 68 historic holes yielded intercepts ranging between the following best 5 and worst 5 drill holes at Chang Zi Ping, the other 58 holes in terms of weighted grade and true width range between these 5 best and 5 worst historic holes.

The past drilling indicates the presence of broad low grade gold mineralization and narrow high grade gold mineralization from surface and to depth.

Resources at Chang Zi Ping as reported by the Hunan Provincial authorities in 1994 were stated at 656,000 ozs. Au of inferred resources. These "resources" are situated in three principal northwest trending brittle shear zones composed of sericite-clay schist with variable amounts of quartz and sulphides.

These three zones have been traced along strike for 520m, 440m and 340m respectively and gold mineralization is known to extend to at least 300m in depth.

Mineralization exploited in these areas generally ranges from 0.5m to 5.0m wide and is locally up to 20 meters wide in parts of zone 3.

The Chang Zi Ping data base will now enable IKI to produce plan maps, cross sections and longitudinal sections of this area of the Xuefeng property in order to design a drill program for 2005.

DAPING, XUEFENG GOLD PROPERTY

The underground adit at Daping will be about 1,000m in length by the end of next month. The adit is approximately 120m from surface and is designed to perpendicularly cut up to 5 further gold zones known to exist at surface at Daping. A total of 27 samples from the adit, including samples from zone I-10, are out for assay. Leading up to and excluding zone I-10 the SSW adit heading has cut through 76m of grey-green slate, in the Daping shear zone, with minor amounts of silicification and quartz veinlets having a weighted average of 0.34 g/t Au. It appears this SSW portion of the 2,500m Daping shear zone is gold bearing leading up to zones I-10, I-11 and I-12.

The SSW heading is to cut zone I-11 in about 10 days. Gold zone I-12 is estimated to be intersected in the adit in approximately 30 days. This zone was the best zone sampled at surface by IKI returning 1.12 g/t Au over 24m.

The NE40 heading is expected to pass through gold zone #5 in about 10 days, gold zone # 4 in about 25 days and gold zone # 3 in approximately 45 days.

The Qualified Person for the Xuefeng gold property is Mr. Xiang Wang, Ph.D. of Calgary, Alberta.

Assay results from the Xuefeng property are from Brigade 407's laboratory using Atomic Absorption Spectrometer method with a majority of pulp and duplicates of IKI samples checked by fire assay by Swastika Laboratories of Kirkland Lake, Ontario. Historic samples taken by Brigade 407 have not been checked by IKI by fire assay.

Finally, the Company is pleased to announce it has engaged P.W. Durbin Consulting Inc.("PWDCI") to act as Research and Business Development consultant and to assist in general shareholder relations and administrative matters in Western Canada. Of the 750,000 options allocated by press release dated February 3, 2005, 350,000 of these options have been granted to PWDCI exercisable at $.25 per share over a two year term. Mr. Prentice Durbin is the sole shareholder, officer and director of PWDCI and he has acted as an officer of IKI in the past and has held the position of comptroller for a TSX listed Company between 1998 to 2002.
