International and Jackstreet Media announced today the launch of the International Nanocasting Alliance (INA). The INA is the Podcasting community's first international trade organization dedicated to accelerating the growth of commercial Internet radio Listening to audio broadcasts via the Internet. There are more than 4,000 broadcasts available on the Internet that can be streamed and played by a software media player in the computer or in a stand-alone Internet radio with the software built in.  and Nanocasting (commercial Podcasting) and to promoting the necessary self-regulation required for the industry to stably expand.

The INA was founded by an "A-list" of media, marketing, academic and legal professionals, media entrepreneurs and advisors from the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , the UK and Australia. Collectively, the founding group has deep experience in the relevant issues that will impact this new media. INA has brought together the expertise of industry leaders with the creativity of a new generation of global media entrepreneurs to ensure that the highest level of talent is tapped to address the challenges this fledgling industry will undoubtedly face.

This is the first significant initiative to come out of organizing the five city "Moving from Podcasting to Nanocasting" conference, sponsored by Guerrilla Marketing International and Jackstreet Media. The conference is part of the Guerrilla Marketing Business University tour. "This is a significant step in beginning the process of setting up the infrastructure required for media entrepreneurs to successfully move from nonprofit Podcasting to commercial Nanocasting," said Jay Conrad Levinson, founder of the Guerrilla Marketing concept. "This whole evolution of Internet radio and Podcasting is essentially a massive guerrilla phenomenon. INA will work to create a fertile climate and establish the necessary support systems for strong growth," said Levinson.

The organization will use the five city tour to mount a national membership drive. For the first 30 days, "Charter Memberships" will be free for the first year. Interested parties may learn more about the INA and apply for a free charter membership by going to http://www.nanocasting.org/.

"To successfully move from vanity radio to Nanocasting is going to require extraordinary expertise. The caliber of people that have agreed to come together and support this initiative are all clearly extraordinary. They are leaders in their respective fields and are forward looking people with a bias for action. We are fortunate to be able to access this level of talent and experience from around the globe," said Errol Smith, Director of Guerrilla Marketing Radio Network and founder of Jackstreet Media.

"To achieve credibility with listeners and advertisers, it will be necessary to establish professional standards in production, content and commercial practices. Those who are serious about this new endeavor will need to come together to form a professional organization that will draft guidelines for acceptable practices. This will help differentiate them from those who simply want to use the Internet for their own personal agendas," said Dr. Joseph Dominick, professor in the Department of Telecommunication at the University of Georgia Organization

and the leading academic in the INA.

Additionally, many legal issues face those looking to move from Podcasting to Nanocasting. "There needs to be hard and fast legal rules regarding licensing music for Podcasting. Best practices and professional standards need to be implemented to not only to increase the production values Production values is a media term for "production cost." It refers to the professional look, or "polish," of a production. Factors that affect perceived production value may include video and audio quality, lighting, number of errors, and amount and quality of special effects.  of Podcasts, but also the legitimacy of Podcasting as a media vehicle," said Elizabeth L. Fletcher J.D., one of three legal advisors to the INA.

Other reasons for the need to organize were expressed by Cameron Reilly Cameron Reilly (born October 10, 1970) of Yarraville in Melbourne, Australia is a blogger, podcaster and entrepreneur best known for his co-founding of The Podcast Network, a podcasting business with programming from around the world. , INA founding member and co-founder of The Podcast Network in Australia.  of the media and it is vital that, as an industry, we chart a course to avoid the inevitable barriers," said Reilly.

As for the five city "Moving from Podcasting to Nanocasting" conference, media consultant Valerie Geller believes it is the way to go for individuals to get a competitive advantage. "Most of life is based on relationships. The five city tour will allow these relationships to be forged in person, for later, getting in front of the right people, thus allowing the consumer to meet the players, ask valuable questions and best learn to understand how to benefit from this exciting use of new media."

The INA's founding member in the UK brings another important perspective. "Podcasting in the UK is at a very early stage, but the potential listenership lis·ten·er·ship

is huge. The UK leads the world in broadband access and latest official figures show that 52% of UK homes are already connected to the Internet. It is vital, however, that if Internet broadcasting Internet Broadcasting (formerly Internet Broadcasting Systems), or IBS, is a provider of television station web sites. IBS hosts over 70 local stations' sites, and co-produced NBCOlympics.  is to become established successfully in the UK, we focus on creating outstanding quality and content for niche markets," said Alex Bellinger, founder of SmallBizPod, the UK's first Podcast dedicated to small business.

Finally, there is Paul Montoya, the first AM station owner to leave broadcasting to start an all Internet radio network. "I was there when FM radio came into its own and saw the impact on AM radio. I have also seen the impact satellite radio has had on FM radio. I can now see the incredible possibilities that Podcasting can have globally."
