International Designers Highlight SIGGRAPH's New Artists in Residence Program.


CHICAGO -- For the first time in its history, SIGGRAPH (Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics, www.siggraph.org) The arm of the ACM that specializes in computer graphics and interactive techniques. Providing publications, workshops and conferences, it has served technicians and researchers as well as the artist and business community  will host an Artists in Residence Program during the 34th International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques held 5-9 August 2007 at the San Diego Convention Center The San Diego Convention Center is the main convention center for the city of San Diego, California. This year's Artists in Residence are:

Harriete Estel Berman - A California resident who is world renowned for her sculpture, jewelry, and wall pieces. Michael Wright - A talented painter based in Los Angeles who began to explore Digital Media in the mid 1980s on an Amiga A personal computer series introduced in 1985 by Commodore. Amigas gained a reputation early on as advanced graphics and multimedia machines, and NewTek's Video Toaster application brought it to the forefront of economical, high-end video editing.  computer. He exhibited his first Digital Prints in 1989 and continues to work in both traditional and electronic mediums. He has exhibited digital and traditional works on a national level.

SIGGRAPH 2007 will bring an estimated 25,000 computer graphics and interactive technology professionals from six continents to San Diego, California, USA for the industry's most respected technical and creative programs focusing on research, science, art, animation, gaming, interactivity, education, and the web from 5-9 August at the San Diego Convention Center.
