An accompanying Web site was expected to be operational by the beginning of May. The magazine will have a controlled circulation of 25,000 CSO professionals in the Global 2000. A paid annual subscription will be available for $65.

Without being specific, IDG said that editorial will focus on the "challenges and achievements of the nation's CSOs" and will provide subscribers with "the information and tools needed to make smart, strategic decisions and wise investments." The Web site will carry editorial from the magazine, and marketing and subscription data.

Besides CIO magazine, CXO Media also produces an accompanying Web site, e-mail newsletters, and "Executive Programs," a series of educational and networking conferences for government and industry professionals.
