International Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.


Antony Wood of the United Kingdom has been named the new executive director of the International Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat The Council on Tall buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) was founded at Lehigh University in 1969. Its office remained at Lehigh until October 2003, when it moved to the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois.  (CTBUH CTBUH Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat ), effective September 2006.

Wood is an RIBA RIBA Royal Institute of British Architects  (Royal Institute of British Architects The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is a professional body for architects in the United Kingdom.

Originally named the Institute of British Architects in London
) -registered architect who has worked in architectural practice in Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia, as well as the UK. He has considerable expertise in the design and construction of high-rise buildings, having worked on several large high-rise schemes out in the Far East.

Wood will be located at the Council's headquarters at the Illinois Institute of Technology Illinois Institute of Technology, in Chicago; coeducational; founded 1940 by a merger of Armour Institute of Technology (founded 1892) and Lewis Institute (1896). , Chicago, where he will be assisting CTBUH Chairman David Scott in increasing the value and relevance of the Council. Specific duties will include coordinating the CTBUH Working Groups; Events and Publications; overseeing the Council's website; managing public relations and assisting with the development of financial support for Council activities. The Executive Director role is combined with a faculty position at the Illinois Institute of Technology where Wood will be continuing his teaching and research activities.
