International Consular Gala: Chamber honors CEOs of BorgWarner and Acro Service Corp. at black-tie event.


Business leaders Tim Manganello and Ravinder (Ron) Shahani were honored at the Detroit Regional Chamber's International Consular Gala in March at The Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.

Shahani, founder, president and CEO of Acro Service Corp. in Livonia, received the Emerging Global Leader Award, which recognizes a small to mid-sized non-automotive company on the fast track to becoming an international leader and its contributions to our region's global economy.

Before joining BorgWarner, he held product engineering management positions at Chrysler Corp. from 1973 to 1981 and sales management positions at PT Components-LinkBelt from 1981 to 1988.

Shahani founded Acro Service Corp. in 1982 as a privately held staffing firm servicing clients in the Detroit area. Shahani is a member of the board of directors of the Detroit Regional Chamber, Michigan Chamber of Commerce and Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce. He is involved in fundraising activities for Henry Ford Health System's Multicultural Dermatology Center as well as other civic and charitable organizations, such as the Covenant House of Michigan, Zoe Foundation and The Lingap Children's Foundation.
