International Coatings Technology Conference offers instruction on coatings fundamentals to cutting-edge topics.Following up on the highly successful program held last year in Philadelphia, the 2004 International Coatings Technology Conference (ICTC ICTC Indiana County Technology Center (Indiana, Pennsylvania) ICTC Isabella County Transportation Commission (Michigan) ICTC International Cities, Town Centres and Communities (Australia) ) will offer a wide variety of courses, covering fundamental concepts through cutting-edge techniques. Featuring instruction by leading experts in coatings and allied technologies, the ICTC will be held in conjunction with ICE 2004, at McCormick Place McCormick Place is an enormous exposition complex located in Chicago, Illinois. North in Chicago, IL. The Conference will be held from October 25-27, and will feature a flexible schedule of programs. An expected highlight of the ICTC will be a two-day Executive Forum on one of the most compelling topics in the industry--Six Sigma (see related article.) Being planned by members of the FSCT FSCT Federation of Societies for Coating Technology FSCT Fire Support Control Terminal Professional Development Committee, under the direction of Dr. Jamil Baghdachi, of Eastern Michigan University Eastern Michigan University, mainly at Ypsilanti, Mich.; coeducational; founded 1849 as a normal school, became Eastern Michigan College in 1956, gained university status in 1959. , the Conference will offer the following courses: Two-Day Courses Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 25-27 * EXECUTIVE FORUM: Six Sigma Not to be confused with Sigma 6. Six Sigma is a set of practices originally developed by Motorola to systematically improve processes by eliminating defects.[1] A defect is defined as nonconformity of a product or service to its specifications. for Global Competitiveness * Additive Technologies for Coatings * Basic Polymer and Crosslinking Chemistry for the Coatings Chemist * Advanced Polymer Technology and Crosslinking * Understanding the Transition: Waterborne Coatings Technology * Principles of Paint Formulations Two-Day Courses Tuesday, October 26 * Color Science and Technology * Paste Printing Ink Vehicles * Maintenance Coatings * Powder Coatings Powder coating is a type of dry coating, which is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between a conventional liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension * High Throughput Methodology for Rapid Coatings Development Half-Day Courses Wednesday, October 27 * Introduction to Coatings Technology for the Non-Technologist * Advances in Photochemical photochemical in laser treatment, the laser light is absorbed and converted into chemical energy. Polymerizations for Coatings Applications * Nanotechnology and Nanocomposites Half-Day Courses Wednesday, October 27 * Design of Anti-Corrosion Coatings * Global Regulatory Changes and Their Effect on Coating Formulation * Design of Waterborne Resins * The Impact of Color not of the white race; - commonly meaning, esp. in the United States, of negro blood, pure or mixed.
