Sunny Point transporters are taking break-bulk ammunition and quickly reconfiguring it for loading on 40-foot shipping containers.

They are achieving rapid speed as a result of the Container Roll-on/Roll-off Platform System.

The systems are being used for the first time in a series of big moves involving Army preposition preposition, in English, the part of speech embracing a small number of words used before nouns and pronouns to connect them to the preceding material, e.g., of, in, and about.  ammunition. Ammunition is loaded onto the platform, banded and pushed into end-opening containers.

When ammunition is needed, the platform can be removed and transported to the field. The equipment is expected to play a key role in the Army's Logistics Battlefield Distribution Plan.

By using a Palletized Load System A truck with hydraulic load handling mechanism, trailer, and flatrack system capable of self-loading and -unloading. Truck and companion trailer each have a 16.5 ton payload capacity. Also called PLS. As recently as Operation Desert Shield/Storm, the process took five to six soldiers.
