Intermedia Communications Deploys Telcordia Interconnection Service.

Communications software and solutions provider Telcordia Technologies, Inc. today announced that Intermedia Communications (Nasdaq: ICIX) has deployed the Telcordia(TM) Exchange Link interconnection ASP (Application Service Provider) service to exchange Local Service Request orders and pre-orders with its trading partners.

Intermedia, an integrated communications provider and one of the nation's largest competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), is utilizing Telcordia Exchange Link to interact with seven Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (ILECS).

Having just completed the processing of its one-millionth service request, Telcordia Exchange Link is an interconnection ASP that receives and processes order-related information between telecom retailers and wholesalers. The service automatically validates order information and transmits it to the appropriate carriers, in the correct protocol, dramatically simplifying B2B commerce for service providers. Exchange Link is not only pre-programmed with the business rules for all of the nation's major wholesalers, it is continually updated with changing business rules and new software releases. Telcordia Exchange Link enables communications providers such as Intermedia to send all pre-order inquiries and orders over a common interface, where messages are managed and transmitted quickly and with the highest flow-through rates in the industry.
