Intermec Wins IBM PartnerWorld Beacon Award for Best Wireless Mobility Solution; Intermec IF5 RFID Reader Combines Hardware and IBM WebSphere Software to Minimize Network Overload When Integrating RFID Data with Enterprise Applications.


EVERETT, Wash. -- Intermec Inc. has been named winner of the Best Wireless Mobility Solution award in the annual IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  PartnerWorld Beacon Awards competition, which honors IBM Business Partners for their innovation, customer satisfaction and outstanding achievements in providing on-demand business solutions.

METRO Group plans a rollout of the RFID solution for selected sales divisions with more than 100 stores and distribution centers by September 2006.
