The makers of competing surgical robots, Intuitive Surgical Intuitive Surgical Inc. (NASDAQ: ISRG) is a corporation that manufactures robotic surgical systems, most notably the da Vinci Surgical System. Intuitive Surgical has a market capitalization of 9.77 billion USD and is part of the Nasdaq-100 and S&P 400 MidCap Indices.  Inc. and Computer Motion Inc., have decided to bury the scalpel, as it were, and join robotic hands.

The companies, which were suing each other over patent claims, have agreed to merge. Under terms of.the proposed deal, shares of Goleta-based Computer Motion's stock will convert into 0.52 shares of Sunnyvale-based Intuitive's stock. Intuitive will issue about $78 million' in stock to complete the deal.

As reported by the Business Journal last August, each company's million-dollar robot makes it far easier to do minimally invasive cardiac and other types of surgery. Cedars-Sinai is the result of a merger in 1961 between two major Los Angeles hospitals, Cedars of Lebanon and Mount Sinai Home for the Incurables, with Steve Broidy as
 have bought Computer Motion equipment, while USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  Medical Center has Intuitive equipment.
