Interleaf Forms New Company for XML Content Management.

Electronic publishing and documentation software house Interleaf Inc has formed a new unit to focus on XML-based content management systems for E-business applications. Called "the e- content company" the new unit will develop and deliver Interleaf's BladeRunner content management system, for creating, managing and publishing content for web applications through XML and Microsoft Corp's Word.

Interleaf announced Bladerunner in November last year, and formed a content management division at the start of this year, with dedicated development, sales and professional services staff. In March it acquired Swedish company Texcel International AB to provide a web-centric desktop environment for Bladerunner. The Bladerunner product was released in volume shipments to customers last month.
