Showcasing comfort and warmth

At the Fountains at RiverVue, designers achieved an overall warmth in interior schemes uncharacteristic of most of the nation's assisted living as·sist·ed living

residences. Our jurors credited the look to the design team's obvious attention to detail: a careful (but not fussy) mix of interior finishes and furnishings along with a varied sampling of original art.

Completed last year, the Fountains at RiverVue offers 102 assisted living apartments and 24 Alzheimer's units with architecture by Engelbrecht Griffin Architects and interior design by Interior Design Associates of Nashville. The architects maximized residents' outdoor connections, which include Bronx River The Bronx River, approximately 24 miles (38 km) long, flows through southeast New York in the United States. Inside, designers relied on nostalgic themes-a country store, a tearoom, and a cinema and concession-carried out with flair. In the tearoom, for example, mellow yellow paint coats the walls, with a ceiling mural by New York New York, state, United States

The true test of interior warmth comes in the spalike bathrooms. Designers delivered welcoming spaces, outfitted in tile and decorative wellcovering, with ample room for assisted bathing and grooming.
