Intergraph showcases advances in interoperability, linear

referencing and sophisticated routing and hydrologic modeling at HEEP

At the International Highway Engineering Exchange Program (HEEP) in Cheyenne, Wyo., Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions (NASDAQ:INGR) is showcasing its latest advances in open interoperable solutions through a series of presentations and demonstrations using datasets from Departments of Transportation (DOTs) nationwide. On display in the Intergraph booths (21 & 22) is a broad array of geospatial, Web mapping and imaging technologies that provide industry specific functionality while ensuring enterprisewide, seamless access to interstate and road inventory and asset data.

Intergraph is giving first-time demonstrations of new, breakthrough functionality designed to increase productivity and improve daily decision making and management for engineers, planners and administrators in DOTs, including:

-- Support for both linear referencing and sophisticated routing

in a single linear network

-- A new Interoperability Kit for complete data access through

Oracle between Intergraph, Autodesk, Laser-Scan and MapInfo's

tools and technologies, regardless of the application used to

-- A soon-to-be released front-end map component to the Corps of

Engineers Hydrological Engineering Center's Hydrologic

Modeling System (HEC-HMS) that allows hydrologists to

visualize their spatial and hydrologic information. The new

product uses GeoMedia(R) and GeoMedia Grid to develop

hydrologic modeling parameters and generate input files for

HEC-HMS.

Industry-proven transportation solutions on display

During the show, attendees will see desktop, Web and mobile transportation management implementations involving Intergraph customers, including Manitoba Transportation and Government Services, Hawaii DOT, Ohio DOT, Nebraska Department of Roads, Kansas DOT and Tennessee DOT. These implementations will include solutions for the following:

-- Asset routing and management - Intergraph's GeoMedia

Transportation Manager and Analyst allows easy access to

network and asset data throughout an organization, regardless

of format or database location. This allows professionals to

maintain their digital road database using source data to

view, analyze and present the most up-to-date information. The

latest product release provides the capability to support both

linear referencing and sophisticated routing with a single

linear network. With this new functionality, public officials

can now create a public bus route on their existing road

network and then use the bus route as a Linear Referencing

System (LRS) to reference all bus-related assets.

-- Image management - Z/I Imaging's TerraShare stores and manages

terabytes of heterogeneous imagery and terrain data to empower

transportation agencies with access to the most up-to-date

information for planning and construction.

-- Digital Image Acquisition - Z/I Imaging's Digital Mapping 

Camera (DMC(TM)) empowers transportation agencies to acquire

the best aerial image data possible to support data capture

and decision-support systems.

-- Engineering enterprise Web portals - Subcontractors,

suppliers, transportation companies and passengers can satisfy

their information needs with dynamic access to an

organization's information repository through Web portals

-- Field data collection using location-based services -

User-friendly IntelliWhere software for the PDA enables field

crews to collect and update data for tasks such as road sign

inventory, accident analysis and more with GIS and asset data

at their fingertips.

-- Hydrologic modeling - Soon-to-be released software helps

visually determine an area of interest as hydrologic engineers

predict precipitation results. The new software designates

drainage paths and watersheds from terrain data, such as

Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), which are then used to derive

hydrologic parameters to submit to HEC-HMS.

Intergraph presentations highlight customer successes

At the five-day conference, Intergraph industry consultant Mike Wing will showcase customer projects that use GeoMedia technology to streamline daily activities, including "Leveraging the Database to Facilitate Kansas DOT's Construction Detour Reporting System" and "Implementing a Flexible Methodology for Displaying and Analyzing HPMS Data on the Web for Hawaii DOT." Intergraph's Sean Davies will also discuss hydrologic modeling requirements of DOTs in "When it Rains - It Pours! - Hydrologic Flood Modeling for DOTs."
