Intergraph Honors Industry and Government Leaders for Product Innovation, Partnership, and Proven Results With New Icon Award.

Six US and international organizations receive inaugural recognition

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Intergraph Corporation recognized six industry and government leaders with its inaugural Icon Award, the company's highest customer distinction for product innovation, partnership, and proven results.

The Icon Awards were announced today at Intergraph 2007, the global spatial information management (SIM) provider's international user conference in Nashville. The Icon Award honors those companies and organizations that have fully deployed and leveraged Intergraph software in a visionary manner with proven and tangible results that have significantly contributed to their business or industry.

The 2007 Icon Award winners are: ASTRID, a Brussels-based government initiative for nationwide emergency response; Chematur Engineering AB, Corp., a Swedish chemical engineering firm; ETSA Utilities, an electricity distributor for the state of South Australia; the (US) National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA); the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR) Engineering and Fuel Business Unit of South Africa, developer of an advanced new nuclear demonstration reactor; and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), the shipbuilding and offshore unit of Samsung, Korea's largest group company.

Icon Award Winner Profiles

ASTRID's mission is to establish, run, maintain, and implement any developing modifications and widening of a radio communications network for voice and data transmissions for Belgian emergency and security services, state and institutional security services, and companies or associations, be they public or private, which provide services in the field of emergency and security services. The organization deployed Intergraph's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) solution to enable all public safety emergency dispatchers in Belgium to seamlessly integrate an interactive, real time map display with call handling, dispatching, records and information management, remote access and mobile data and put information in the hands of first responders.

Chematur Engineering will carry out any required scope of chemical process plant project work, from licensing of its proprietary technologies in supercritical fluids to turnkey undertakings. The global company deployed Intergraph SmartPlant[R] Enterprise engineering design and data management solutions to enable worksharing between its engineers in Sweden, Poland, and India. The result has been increased productivity and an estimated 10 plus percent cost reduction of the total installed plant.

ETSA Utilities distributes electricity to nearly 800,000 residential and business customers. To comply with regulator requirements for service information and to improve customer relations, ESTA implemented Intergraph GIS, outage management and workforce management systems to more accurately locate, report and respond to electrical transmission outage and service problems.

The NGA provides timely, relevant and geospatial intelligence in support of national security objectives, civilian and military leaders and contributes to the readiness of U.S. military forces. Intergraph has significantly expanded its long-standing relationship with NGA to enhance the agency's flexibility and enterprise control, assist end users, deploy new technology and provide NGA with an even greater ability to meet its mission of supporting national security while reducing costs.

The PBMR Engineering and Fuel Business Unit is internationally regarded as the leader in power generation for its development of the world's first commercial scale advanced reactor that will offer very high efficiency and economy without compromising the high levels of passive safety expected of advanced nuclear designs. PBMR has deployed SmartPlant Enterprise solutions as a single platform to integrate the plant environment of this next generation reactor.

SHI constructs high value-added vessels such as LNG carriers and large passenger ships as well as drill ships and shuttle tankers. The global leader has deployed Marine Enterprise solutions to increase engineering design and data capabilities that will improve productivity by an estimated 10 percent, reduce costs, and decrease design and production errors.
