Intergraph Announces Annual Golden Valve Awards at APEX Shanghai 2005 Conference.

SHANGHAI, China -- Intergraph Corporation (NASDAQ: INGR) today announced the 2005 Golden Valve Awards at the Intergraph APEX Shanghai conference, where the winning entries are exhibited. The annual Golden Valve competition showcases the expertise of customers using Intergraph Process, Power & Marine software including SmartPlant(R) Review, SmartPlant 3D, FrameWorks(R) Plus and PDS(R). The winning entries represent projects from a variety of industries, including metals and mining, onshore and offshore oil and gas, pulp and paper, power generation and petrochemicals - designed, under construction or operating throughout Asia, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Best of Show winner is Jinwook Choi, POSCO Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., Korea, whose image "Blast Furnace Piping System," was entered in the Visually Complex category. The winning entry illustrates a blast furnace piping system composed of stave cooling, tuyere (nozzle) cooling and PCI (pulverized coal injection) piping. The image was created using Intergraph PDS, SmartPlant Review and FrameWorks(R) Plus.

In the Working Views category, first place winner is Nitin Dhamane, Hatch, Canada, for "Mining for Future," showing bauxite grinding, crushing and precipitation areas of an alumina refinery. Second place winner is V. J. Shankar, Larsen & Toubro Ltd., India, for "Close View of Fired Heater" which shows fired heater fuel piping including circular burner supply header piping. Carlos A. Yanez, Tecnoconsult S.A., Venezuela, receives the third place award for "Tecnoconsult Working View 03," which depicts the piping arrangement associated with a crude plate exchanger, vapor recovery unit, inlet separators and charge pumps.

First place winner in the Visually Complex category is Saviolo Andrea, Snamprogetti S.p.A., Italy, who wins the top spot for "General View of Gasification Complex." The visualization features hydrolysis and acid gas removal, gasification and soot ash recovery piping and equipment. Agus Subiyantoro, IKPT, Indonesia, is the second place winner for his entry which illustrates a natural gas liquids plant with a booster compressor structure in front of a process pipe rack. Third place winner is Tapio Laakso, Jaakko Poyry OY, Finland, for "Operator on the Platform," an overall plant view. Honorable Mention winner is David Goland, Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., Canada, whose "CANDU 6: Inside the Walls - Closeup" shows the AECL CANDU 6 nuclear power plant built in Qinshan, China.

In the Rendering and Raytrace category, first place winner is Simon Gervais, KSH Solutions Inc., Canada, for "Wayagamack PM4 Operating Floor," a depiction of a paper production facility. Saviolo Andrea, Snamprogetti S.p.A., Italy, whose "COS/HCN Hydrolysis and Acid Gas Removal" second place winning entry shows ladders and platforms around a raw syngas column. The third place winner is Silvano Baron Espinosa, Lockwood Greene de Mexico S.A. de C.V., Mexico, for "Complex Arrangement," depicting an intricate arrangement of piping, equipment and stucture. Honorable Mention for "Wellhead Platform Under Moonlight" goes to Aditya Wardhana, PT Tripatra Engineering, Indonesia. The entry shows an offshore platform glowing under a full moon.

Animation category first place winner is G. Rajendra Kumar, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., India. "Virtual Walk Around a Thermal Power Plant" is a 3D walk through of the left side view of a thermal power plant. Dave Hargy, Shaw Stone & Webster, USA, is the second place winner for "Power Turbine Building," an animation of a 2X 800MW coal-fired power plant proposal created in SmartPlant 3D. Third place is Mehul B. Dholakia, L&T Chiyoda Ltd., India, for "Reviewing the Plant," an animation reviewing a final design.
