Symbol:DROM DROM Deutsches Register Osteopathischer Medizin DROM Data Read Only Memory ), announced today that it has entered into an advertising agreement with AST (AST Computer, Irvine, CA) A PC manufacturer founded in 1980 by Albert Wong, Safi Quershey and Tom Yuen (A, S and T). It offered a complete line of PCs that sold through its dealer channel. Computer of Irvine, Calif. AST's line of award winning PC products will be advertised on the interactive kiosks which are being installed in the pro shops of private golf clubs in Northern Ohio. The clubs are members of the Northern Ohio Golf Association (NOGA NOGA Northern Ohio Golf Association NOGA National Oil and Gas Assessment ), a USGA USGA United States Golf Association USGA Uhren & Schmuck Gassner (Germany) USGA US Global Nanospace Inc. (stock symbol) USGA Undergraduate Student Government Association regional organization. With the addition of AST, the total current advertising revenues for the NOGA project exceed $275,000 for the 1996 season which runs from April through October. Additional advertisers are expected to sign on. WSM is selling advertising space on the kiosks which range from $4,000 to $12,600 per month depending upon the size and location. The NOGA project is a "proof-of-concept" for the 1996 season which will determine the future expansion of the program into other regions of the United States. The USGA has 8,000 clubs and over four million playing members. NOGA's participating clubs are located primarily in Cuyahoga and the four other adjacent counties. Over 12,000 playing members and 5,000 guests at 30 clubs will be involved. AST is providing the multimedia PCs for the interactive kiosks which will feature the USGA's computerized handicapping system, GHIN, along with club news and advertising. AST's Advantage PC, which WSM is utilizing, has received several honors including the four-star awards from Electronic Entertainment. AST is a Fortune 500 company and an international PC manufacturer with sales and marketing in over 100 countries. It had sales of $2.469 billion for the 1995 fiscal year. IMP is a competitor in the international marketplace for the development and sale of CD-ROMs and interactive kiosks.
