InterNex Named Official Network Provider at Boston Internet Expo.

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1996--No job is too big for InterNex Information Services. The company, headquartered in California's Silicon Valley, will use 15 miles of Ethernet cable and 4 T1 links to connect 500 exhibits and 50,000 visitors to the Internet at DCI's Internet Expo, Web World & Email World Exposition in Boston.

As Internet Expo's official network provider, InterNex will install its high-speed network infrastructure in five exposition halls at Boston's Hynes Convention Center Oct. 15-17. InterNex also will provide a daily news feed, domain name service and multicasting services during the show.

In 1997, InterNex also will provide network services for DCI technology expositions in San Jose, Chicago and Boston.

Three concentrator units will be placed in plexiglass booths throughout the show floor to allow visitors to view some of the network components that serve the show.

DCI is billing the expo as an interactive meeting of Internet technology minds. Its keynote speakers include Vinton Cerf, "father of the Internet," and Marvin Runyon, U.S. postmaster general. Exhibits will display every major product relating to Email, the Web and Internet technologies.

Other InterNex Activities at the Expo

In addition to providing network services for the show, InterNex will showcase two of its premier services in Booth 2125: Web hosting and event network services. The company's Web hosting products include an entry-level hosting environment for businesses starting out on the World Wide Web, hosting services for businesses needing to add network capacity and performance not available through their private corporate networks, and complete Web server management and support services. Event network services include trade show and conference support and "Webcasting" of live events, such as the recent Burning Man Festival concert in Black Rock, Nevada, and Apple Computer's coverage of the Atlanta Olympics.

As a promotion, InterNex will give away CD-ROMs to everyone who attends the DCI expo. The CD-ROMs feature Internet software from companies who rely on InterNex's Web hosting facilities for high-performance, highly reliable digital delivery of their Web-based products. The sampler includes PointCast's News Network, Macromedia's Shockwave, Claris' Home Page, VDOnet's VDOLive Player, and other Web applications.
