WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- InterAct Public Safety Systems, a supplier of public safety technology systems used by local, state, national and international government agencies, today announced it was chosen as a presenter in the Tennessee 9-1-1 Winter Workshop to be held January 24-27, 2006 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee Gatlinburg is a city in Sevier County, Tennessee, with a total population of 3,828, as of the 2000 U.S. census. This popular event affords 9-1-1, EMA (1) (Enterprise Management Architecture) An earlier strategic plan from Digital for integrating network, system and application management. It provided the operating environment for managing a multi-vendor network.  and law enforcement officials an opportunity to learn in a casual, non-traditional environment. InterAct will conduct its session on "The Future - Today - in Mobile and Wireless Communications wireless communications

System using radio-frequency, infrared, microwave, or other types of electromagnetic or acoustic waves in place of wires, cables, or fibre optics to transmit signals or data.
" at 8:00 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2006.

The Winter Workshop originated in 2004 when it became apparent that 9-1-1 decision-makers would stand to benefit from a non-traditional seminar, or teaching-learning event, designed by and for local community leaders. Unlike a typical trade show, there are no vendor booths or sales presentations at the Winter Workshop. Instead, the workshop committee selects 12 vendors to teach one hour workshops on a specific topic. Only vendors with demonstrated expertise in a subject area are invited. The founders chose to keep the event very casual to set a comfortable learning environment. The Winter Workshop has twice doubled its attendance and promises to attract more than the 150 that attended the event last January.

"We recognize that the most effective sales approach is to demonstrate that the company possesses special expertise and acumen acumen Astuteness, perception, perspicacity  about the technology," said Attorney Mike Mahn, who represents over twenty 911 districts and is a founding member of the Winter Workshop. "We literally turn the tables on the normal trade show concept, placing the selected vendors in a prominent role as the teacher of the technology."
