Intellicall Unveils Expanded Feature Set at APCC Conference in Atlanta.

Intellicall, Inc. (AMEX:ICL) today announced an expanded feature set for the ASTRATEL(R) 2 intelligent payphone. Features include dial-around, follow-on call tracking, data port/extension phone, electronic lock, collection enhancements, rate quotes, and new service capabilities. These features will be highlighted at the APCC 1999 East Conference and Exhibition, along with the Wireless ASTRATEL 2 payphone, starting today in Atlanta, Georgia.

The ASTRATEL 2 creates an additional call detail record for dial-around follow-on calls when the patron uses the "pound" key. Configuration parameters allow the payphone owner to customize the feature, enabling better insight into the magnitude of compensable dial-around calls.

The data port/extension phone feature allows calls only to IPP-programmed numbers. Data port mode enables laptop computer users to connect with their Internet Service Provider by plugging the laptop modem into the external port. No reconfiguration of the computer is required. Extension phone mode allows the connection of a standard telephone set to a payphone for sites requiring a "house" phone for employees and a payphone for customers. Supervision is provided for the extension phone by the ASTRATEL 2. Call duration can be limited in both modes of operation.

The RAM-based service features include station visit (i.e., tracking of service activities), and service callout via keypad or switch lock. Electronic locks allow IPPs to use an electronically monitored 4-digit code for coin collection security, thereby minimizing key inventory.

Collection enhancements allow the IPP to program high, medium and low coin box full amounts, the reporting of the actual date and time of collection, box number reporting, a "box out" bit in CDRs, and automatic clearing of totals with collection. A new coin box volume threshold algorithm calculates coin box volume based on actual volume of coins rather than monetary totals.

Payphone owners can now provide automated rate quotes for 0+ calls using initial and additional minute rates.

The expanded feature set requires the new program software version PPSA0204.010. In addition, the e-lock feature requires an augmented RTC4 board; data port/extension phone also requires AC power.
