ALBANY, N.Y--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 28, 1998--IntelliWare Systems Inc. and Commercial Data Servers today announced a technical, marketing and sales partnership to provide a new Year 2000 compliant, low-cost upgrade path for servers for users of VSE-based computing platforms.

The agreement, announced at the annual World Alliance of VSE and VM (WAVV) Conference, will result in IntelliWare becoming the exclusive CDS 2000(tm) VSE reseller in North America with non-exclusive rights to the worldwide VSE market. The CDS 2000 is the leader in high-performance, low cost of ownership servers for the IBM System/390 community. WAVV is a non-profit trade organization whose purpose is to promote the business and technology interests of the more than 25,000 VSE and VM users throughout the world.

The CDS 2000 for VSE product combines the IBM P/390(R) technology with a patent pending fiber-optic system bus architecture, resulting in I/O throughput that has been benchmarked to be as much as three times the rate of a comparable IBM P/390 based system. By using an actual IBM P/390 microprocessor complex, VSE users are assured of application compatibility while enjoying much higher I/O rates as well as improved overall processor performance due to this unique combination of technology.
