:IDN), a developer of advanced document verification systems, announced today the appointment of Geoffrey G. Slagle as Director of Jurisdiction Document Systems, a new position at the Company.

Mr. Slagle will be responsible for overseeing the standards for Intelli-Check's technically sophisticated ID-Check(R) document verification units and for coordinating activities with national and international standards organizations, according to Frank Mandelbaum, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

Before joining Intelli-Check, Mr. Slagle served as Standards Program Director for the technical subsidiary of The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) is a non-governmental, voluntary, tax-exempt, nonprofit educational association. AAMVA is a private corporation which strives to develop model programs in motor vehicle administration, police traffic services and  (AAMVA AAMVA American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators ), where he developed and maintained standards in support of the organization's applications. He previously served as Functional Analyst for the Defense Enterprise Integration Services contract with the Defense Total Asset Visibility Office and as a Project Manager for the U.S. Agency for International Development. Mr. Slagle holds a B.A. in Business Management from Radford University in Radford, Virginia.

"His expertise will be invaluable to our Company in helping to increase the jurisdictions that our technically sophisticated software reads. The ID-Check unit which utilizes our software is an effective tool that merchants and retailers can use to verify age and validate identity from encoded data on driver licenses, military ID's and other government-issued identification cards."

Mr. Mandelbaum noted that the ID-Check units, with the recent addition of the District of Columbia District of Columbia, federal district (2000 pop. 572,059, a 5.7% decrease in population since the 1990 census), 69 sq mi (179 sq km), on the east bank of the Potomac River, coextensive with the city of Washington, D.C. (the capital of the United States).  and the states of Connecticut and Hawaii, currently read and verify the encoded data on driver licenses and other government issued identification cards in 51 jurisdictions that comply with standards set down by the AAMVA, the American National Standards Institute See ANSI.

Intelli-Check's ID-Check units are being marketed to the casino and gaming industry, convenience stores, bars, nightclubs, financial institutions and other commercial establishments. The ID Check terminal, with its patented software, analyzes and displays information encoded in magnetic stripes and barcodes found on driver licenses, military identification and other forms of government-issued identification. They are designed to help deter the illegal sale of alcohol and tobacco, as well as to help prevent access to other age-restricted products and services, such as lotteries and gaming, to underage purchasers using fake ID. The units are also capable of helping to prevent check-cashing and credit card fraud Credit card fraud is a wide-ranging term for theft and fraud committed using a credit card or any similar payment mechanism as a fraudulent source of funds in a transaction. The purpose may be to obtain goods without paying, or to obtain unauthorized funds from an account.  resulting from "identity theft" using fake IDs.
