It may contain preliminary or speculative information, and may not reflect the final specification of the product. (ISA) will introduce new products based on the Dual-Core Intel Itanium 2 Processor 9000 series. Intel said that the 9050 features two complete processing cores, almost triples the memory reservoir in comparison to its previous generation and can execute four instructions or threads per processor, enhanced by Intel's HT Technology. The 9000 series offers end-users a choice of software with over 8,000 applications in production, provides support for Windows, Linux, Unix and other operating systems, and targets compute intensive areas such as business analytics. The Itanium 2 processor incorporates Explicitly Parallel Instruction Computing Explicitly Parallel Instruction Computing (EPIC) is a computing paradigm that began to be researched in the early 1980s resulting in a U.S. patent 4,847,755 (Gordon Morrison, et. al).[1] This paradigm is also called Independence architectures. (EPIC) architecture design and includes Intel Virtualization Technology See VT. to improve support for OEM and industry virtual machine monitors. It is supported by the SR870BH2 and SR870BN4 rack-optimised Intel server systems, which will be available from late August. Prices for the Dual-Core Itanium 2 processor are USD3692 for the 9050 1.6GHz 24M 533/400 MHz, USD1980 for the 9040 1.6GHz 18M 533/400 MHz, USD1552 for the 9030 1.6GHz 8M 533/400 MHz, USD910 for the 9020 1.42GHz 12M 533/400 MHz, USD749 for the 9015 1.4GHz 12M 400 MHz and USD696 for the single-core 9010 1.6GHz 6M 533/400 MHz.
