Intel develops new static random access memory chips.Worldwide Computer Products News-31 August 2004-Intel develops new static random access memory Static random access memory (SRAM) is a type of semiconductor memory. The word "static" indicates that the memory retains its contents as long as power remains applied, unlike dynamic RAM (DRAM) that needs to be periodically refreshed (nevertheless, SRAM should not be confused with chips(C)1995-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD LTD 1 Laron-type dwarfism 2 Leukotriene D 3 Long-term depression, see there 4. SRAM - static random-access memory ) chip with more than half a billion transistors. The transistors in the 65nm technology have gates measuring 35nm, approximately 30% smaller than the gate lengths on the previous 90nm technology. According to Intel, the new transistors are characterised by improved performance without significant increase in leakage, as well as reduced power consumption. No pricing details have been disclosed. ((Comments on this story may be sent to info@m2.com)) |
