Bringing popular software applications and services to the CablePort adapter technology helps meet the growing demand for fast access to electronic commerce, entertainment, news, and information. The combination of the speeds offered by cable -- up to 1,000 times faster than telephone modems -- with the interactive power of home PCs using Pentium processors makes it possible to deliver these services with high-quality sound, video, and graphics at response times not possible with standard phone modems. Hybrid Networks, Inc., is providing the cable PC networking technology and support for these trials, as well as Internet access.
