Intel Provides Small Businesses With Faster Internet Access; Introduces Analog Modem Bonding for the Intel InBusiness Internet Station.

Intel Corporation today announced the addition of analog modem bonding to the Intel(R) InBusiness(TM) Internet Station helping to significantly increase availability and speed for small business customers connecting to the Internet.

Analog modem bonding is a technology allowing two or three analog connections to be combined providing a larger access pipe to the Internet. Whereas an average analog Internet connection transfers information, faxes or email up to 56 Kbps (kilobits per second), analog modem bonding combines the capability of up to three modems for approximately 168 Kbps, a speed faster than that of ISDN. Analog modem bonding is likened to using three straws instead of one to consume a soft drink, thereby allowing the consumption of three times the amount of liquid possible through a single straw.
