Intel Itanium 2-Based HP Integrity Servers to Boost Volvo IT.

They produced the Intel 4004, Intel 8080, Intel 8086, Intel 80186, Intel 80286, Intel 80386, Intel 486 and Pentium microprocessor families as well as many other integrated circuits and personal computer networking  and HP today announced that Volvo IT, a subsidiary of leading commercial transport solutions supplier AB Volvo, will deploy a cluster of Intel(R) Itanium(R) 2 processor-based HP Integrity servers to help increase business and cost efficiencies across its operations.

Volvo IT will deploy servers to power its mission-critical SAP(1) solution. The Itanium 2 processor-based HP Integrity rx8620 servers running HP-UX HP's version of Unix that runs on its 9000 family. It is based on SVID and incorporates features from BSD Unix along with several HP innovations.
