Intel Honors 29 Companies with Its Preferred Quality Supplier Award.

Intel Corporation today announced that 29 companies will receive Intel's Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) for outstanding commitment to quality and performance excellence. These suppliers provided products and services deemed essential to Intel's business success in 2002. These companies exceeded high expectations and tough performance goals to distinguish themselves from the thousands of suppliers that worked with Intel last year. Winners will be honored at a ceremony in Burlingame, Calif. on March 26.

The PQS awards, Intel's second-highest supplier award, are part of Intel's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score at least 80 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Suppliers must also manage and deliver on a challenging improvement plan and a quality systems assessment.
