Intel Honors 25 Companies with Its Preferred Quality Supplier Award.

Intel Corporation today announced that 25 companies will receive the Preferred Quality Supplier (PQS) award for outstanding commitment to quality and performance excellence. These 25 suppliers provided products and services deemed essential to Intel's success in the year 2001. These companies exceeded high expectations and tough performance goals to distinguish themselves from the thousands of suppliers that worked with Intel last year. Winners will be honored at a ceremony in Burlingame, Calif., on March 13.

The PQS awards are part of Intel's Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process that encourages suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To qualify for PQS status, suppliers must score high on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, technology and responsiveness goals. Suppliers must also manage and deliver on a challenging improvement plan and a quality systems assessment.
