), a key building block technology that enables application developers and service providers to create robust, standards-based Voice-Over-IP (VoIP) calling solutions for their customers. The Intel Internet Phone SDK was developed by the Intel(R) Architecture Labs (IAL IAL - ALGOL 58 ).

Using the SDK, application developers and service providers can easily integrate H.323 VoIP calling features and functions with existing Web-based business applications. This increases their ability to reach the market faster with new VoIP products such as contact center applications, which may ultimately strengthen their revenue stream as well as their ties to new and existing customers. Additional benefits include excellent voice quality via VoIP phone See IP phone and softphone.  connections and the flexibility of PC-optimized support of Windows Driver Module, DirectSound and Wave audio.

"The marketplace has a number of proprietary H.323 client phones developed for specific proprietary services, gateways or gatekeepers, and those based on standards are typically optimized and offered only for a specific application," explained Robert Becker, director, Product Line and Channels Marketing for Intel Dialogic. "The Intel Internet Phone SDK gives an application developer or service provider a standards-based development kit with easy-to-use interfaces to build IP Telephony calling applications for virtually any business application."

The Intel Internet Phone SDK is another element in the Intel Dialogic overall building block product offering enabling services on Next Generation Networks.

"Combined with our IP products for Media Servers, Media Gateways and Signaling Gateways, we're pleased to add this key component that allows our customers to create complete, end-to-end Next Generation Services," said John Landau, vice president of Strategic Marketing for Intel Dialogic. "The SDK reinforces the value of the combination of Intel and Dialogic in delivering building blocks for the Internet Economy The Internet Economy refers to conducting business through markets whose infrastructure is based on the Internet and World-Wide Web. An Internet economy differs from a traditional economy in a number of ways, including: communication, market segmentation, distribution costs, and price. ."

Powerful Voice Solutions For The Internet

The Intel Internet Phone can be used to develop a broad range of H.323 compliant client phone applications. Contact center managers can use the Intel Internet Phone to extend their Customer Relationship Management (CRM (Customer Relationship Management) An integrated information system that is used to plan, schedule and control the presales and postsales activities in an organization. ), eCRM, helpdesk and call center applications. By adding VoIP features to agent desktops and using click-to-talk capabilities, customers can easily contact and talk directly with customer service agents using the same Internet connection from the company's Web page, even as they continue to browse.

Enterprises wishing to better use their existing LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  to avoid the toll charges associated with long-distance calling can use the SDK to build a user-friendly Internet phone client for each employee's desktop or laptop. Internet calling service providers can use the SDK to develop a VoIP phone client that they can offer as part of their service. Finally, H.323 gateway and gatekeeper application equipment providers can use the SDK to develop H.323 client phones to add to their product portfolios.

"Working in conjunction with Intel Dialogic and other industry leaders, we can offer e-calling and voice integrated services with other Internet applications to provide capabilities impossible on the legacy phone network," said Tom Evslin, chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of ITXC (Internet Telephony Exchange Carrier Corporation, Princeton, NJ, www.itxc.com) The largest IP exchange carrier in the world. ITXC was acquired by wholesale telco provider Teleglobe Bermuda Ltd. in 2004 and then by Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd. . "ITXC's Web-based customers benefit from the ability to serve their customers using this advanced Intel technology over ITXC.netTM, one of the largest global network for voice on the Internet."

To accelerate the successful deployment of IP-enabled solutions, development assistance and support for the Intel Internet Phone SDK is available from the Dialogic consulting services group. Applications such as Internet Contact Centers, telecommuting telecommuting, an arrangement by which people work at home using a computer and telephone, transmitting work material to a business office by means of a modem and telephone lines; it is also known as telework.  gateways, IP voice chat, Internet voice portals and VoIP long distance calling can be rapidly deployed using the Intel Internet Phone SDK.
