Intel Delivers 11 New Processors for All Mobile PC Segments.

    Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

    SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 2002--Intel
Corporation today announced 11 new mobile PC processors, including the
Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Processor -- M at 2.2 GHz, delivering
high levels of performance for mainstream notebooks.
Today's introduction comes at a time when notebook adoption is on
the rise. Intel provides a complete family of mobile processors that
offer the right combination of high performance and low power
consumption to meet the requirements of every notebook market segment.
Intel's family of mobile PC processors offers consumers more choice by
enabling PC makers to design notebooks of every shape and size.
"Intel continues to deliver industry-leading processors to all
mobile market segments, from the ultra-portable business productivity
device to a thin-and-light digital media entertainment PC," said Don
MacDonald, director of marketing, Intel Mobile Platforms Group. "Every
day, Intel-based mobile PCs improve the lives of business users and
consumers -- from an employee taking digital notes on a Tablet PC
during a multi-hour meeting, to parents sharing digital photos of
their first-born child over a long dinner. High-performance, low-power
systems bring a new world of computing to your fingertips."
The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor -- M family of mobile
processors offers great performance for full-size, thin-and-light and
desktop-replacement notebooks. Notebooks using this processor can take
advantage of processor-intensive usages and applications such as
business multi-tasking, collaborative workgroups, video encoding,
digital media and gaming.
The Mobile Intel(R) Pentium(R) III Processor -- M enables PC
makers to design sleek form factors offering good performance and
great battery life. Intel also offers the Low Voltage and Ultra Low
Voltage Mobile Intel Pentium III Processor -- M, which are optimized
for mini, sub-notebooks and Tablet PCs -- the smallest systems
offering extreme mobility. The Mobile Intel Pentium III Processors are
ideal for the emerging Tablet PC market segment, as they provide the
best balance of performance and low-power. Tablet PCs based on Intel
mobile processors are expected to launch in Fall 2002.
