Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

SOMERVILLE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 2004

Spain's renowned National Centre for Biotechnology

(Centro Nacional de Biotecnologia) selects Integromics

and Spotfire DecisionSite

Spotfire today announced Integromics, a Spanish provider of information technology services for life sciences companies, is now a Spotfire authorized Value-Added Reseller A value-added reseller (VAR) is a company that adds some feature(s) to an existing product(s), then resells it (usually to end-users) as an integrated product or complete "turn-key" solution.  (VAR) for the Spanish marketplace. The two partners also announced their first joint customer win to the Academic Life Sciences organizations in Spain's renowned National Centre for Biotechnology (Centro Nacional de Biotecnologia) in Madrid.

Integromics provides bioinformatics expertise and IT solutions to drug companies and research institutions involved in genomics and proteomics. It offers a range of technologies and services that help laboratory staffs handle and understand large amounts of data without being burdened by IT issues, particularly in two key areas:

-- Data management and integration;

-- Intelligent data analysis and data mining.

Integromics will use Spotfire's DecisionSite(TM) software to create drug discovery analytic applications Analytic Applications are a type of business application software, used to measure and improve the performance of business operations. More specifically, Analytic Applications are a type of Business Intelligence solution.  for accelerating breakthroughs in potential disease treatments. It will utilize DecisionSite's Guided Analytic(TM) feature to configure applications that capture and share the knowledge and expertise of its customers' best researchers.

Users can collaborate effectively across and outside their enterprises with easy-to-use Web interfaces, providing interactive presentations of complex gene and protein function information. As a result, fast and confident decision-making for new drug designs can quickly spread throughout their organizations.

"Integromics will be a key Spotfire VAR for proliferating the use of DecisionSite analytics to improve drug discovery decision-making across Spain's life sciences industries," said William Cobert, Spotfire's Vice President of Europe Sales. "As our reseller community grows globally and spreads DecisionSite into more leading R&D labs, we envision a new era of dramatically accelerated discoveries of new treatments for disease."
