Integrium Awarded Two Hypertension Studies by a Major Pharmaceutical Company.


TUSTIN, Calif. -- Integrium, a leading contract research organization (CRO) in the cardiovascular and metabolic areas, today announced that the company was awarded workscopes for two large hypertension hypertension or high blood pressure, elevated blood pressure resulting from an increase in the amount of blood pumped by the heart or from increased resistance to the flow of blood through the small arterial blood vessels (arterioles).  studies by a major pharmaceutical company. This follows a number of trial workscopes previously managed by Integrium for this client.

These two Phase 4 trials involve hypertensive hypertensive /hy·per·ten·sive/ (-ten´siv)
1. characterized by increased tension or pressure.

2. an agent that causes hypertension.

3. a person with hypertension.

 and elderly hypertensive patients, respectively. The trials will investigate the reduction in blood pressure, as measured by ambulatory blood pressure monitoring ambulatory blood pressure monitoring,
n measurement of a patient's blood pressure at regular intervals while the patient carries out daily activities.

). It is anticipated that each study will enroll 200 patients at 25 investigator sites in the US - utilizing Integrium's detailed investigator database to identify and recruit these sites.
