Existing arrangements throughout the Organization will be closely examined to determine areas for extending common services and the possible establishment of a common service facility. A draft Code of Conduct has been prepared and will be submitted to the General Assembly. It will require the highest standards of efficiency, competence, independence and integrity of United Nations staff, as stipulated in the Charter of the United Nations. A target of 25 per cent for the reduction in documentation has been set, to be achieved by no later than the end of 1998.
